Try To Beat The Man Who Thinks For Himself…

“Inside of here, One will surely find a brave mix of allegory and contradiction. Inside of here, One will find enough responsibility to differentiate between the two.

I have to admit that it took a lot for me to finally concede to this years election holding a most high precedent on my conscience- one which was not felt as deeply in regards to any previous elections I have lived through.

Day after day, particularly for the last 8 years, I have watched and read about situations unfolding worldwide- horrific events spiraling out of control like a fucking circular saw blade unleashed from it’s base. Seeing with my own eyes that these catastrophic events are only getting worse, not better, has played the biggest role in my newfound activism.

“Unnecessary cruelty, we are each prone to excess within our self inflicted madness.”

Quite frankly, there have oft been times when I have contemplated just exactly how someone could continue believing in the concept of an invisible deity who created this morally corrupt species, just to occupy and thoroughly destroy, the very planet providing our sustenance.

Well, as it happens…
Once upon a time, I too believed in this fictional being whom I felt gave me the courage to be a better person for the sake of humankind. This is how I now feel as equally qualified to speak frankly on the subject of mixing church and state.

“Reasonable Politics vs Religious Prejudice”

What I did not realize then- which is brazenly apparent now, is that this faith I leaned so heavily into was more of an attempt to comprehend and deal with the insanity going on around, and within myself.
In essence, it was fear alone which fueled my faith and devotion.

As I am now older, my present understanding which I am none too proud to admit, is how I once fit into the category of someone who allowed my religious beliefs to misappropriate my political judgments. Acknowledging this still weighs heavily on my mind, despite the fact that my discovery and eventual abandonment of a dogmatic approach took place over 20 years ago.

And now?
Well, we arrive at the only reason why I am even mentioning such a personal indiscretion at all:

As Americans, this years election poses a question. The elected solution will have dire effects on the next four years to come…perhaps even longer. It is established, that as a collective, we are a royally fucked lot, and it would take nothing short of a miracle to change this fact.

Reality in of itself, is not going to magically give way to the perfect human suddenly arriving to preside over us in Presidential harmony, and save us from the woes which were created through our initial lack in foresight.

The fact of the matter is, ALL presumable candidates have their major faults and agendas. And, I am certain that no matter who we end up voting into office, this person too will eventually fail each and every one of us at any given stage of the massive clean up.

So, just try applying this one simple rule when casting your vote:

Enter with the understanding, integrity, and conviction that you are voting yet another human being into play here- and this person is NOT a savior arriving en scene to save the whole planet from it’s endless woes.

It is merely a notion/formality that through our electoral process we can perhaps get someone into office who actually gives a caring fuck (FINALLY!) about what is going on in the world around us. It is the personal hope that this someone might do a better job than all previous failed attempts. It is also a calling to each of us, that this person bear the common decency to at least attempt taking chances on making true change come about.

Revisions which must take place, people…
A new precedent awaits us all…
And, one thing is certain above all else…
Change will not happen should another wrong decision be made on who exactly is elected to take up these reigns, and proceed onward as head of our plight.

I have made my choice about who I think this person will be.
Have you?
ENACT.
